Every year, organizations worldwide lose over $4.5 billion to document fraud, forgery, and authenticity disputes. Traditional notarization is slow, expensive, geographically limited, and fundamentally relies on trusting a single individual.
HashNotary eliminates this problem with mathematics. Instead of trusting a person, you trust cryptography โ specifically, the SHA-256 hashing algorithm and the Polygon blockchain.
When you upload a file to HashNotary, your browser generates a SHA-256 cryptographic fingerprint โ a unique 64-character code that represents your exact document. This fingerprint is then permanently recorded on the Polygon blockchain with a timestamp.
The critical innovation: your file never leaves your device. We employ a Zero-Knowledge Architecture, meaning we never see, store, or transmit your actual document. Only the mathematical fingerprint is recorded โ making it technically impossible for anyone (including us) to access your data.
The same algorithm used by Bitcoin, the NSA, and every major bank. A single bit change in your document produces a completely different hash โ making tampering mathematically detectable.
We write to Polygon (an Ethereum Layer 2), providing the security guarantees of Ethereum with transaction costs under $0.01. Once recorded, a seal cannot be altered, deleted, or backdated by anyone โ including us.
Your files are hashed entirely in your browser using the WebCrypto API. The raw document never touches our servers. Even if our entire infrastructure were compromised, attackers would find zero user documents โ because we never had them.
